The Next Crypto Wave: The Rise of Stablecoins and its Entry to the U.S. Dollar Market

The Next Crypto Wave: The Rise of Stablecoins and its Entry to the U.S. Dollar Market

Author: Christian Hsieh, CEO of Tokenomy
This paper examines some explanations for the continual global market demand for the U.S. dollar, the rise of stablecoins, and the utility and opportunities that crypto dollars can offer to both the cryptocurrency and traditional markets.
The U.S. dollar, dominant in world trade since the establishment of the 1944 Bretton Woods System, is unequivocally the world’s most demanded reserve currency. Today, more than 61% of foreign bank reserves and nearly 40% of the entire world’s debt is denominated in U.S. dollars1.
However, there is a massive supply and demand imbalance in the U.S. dollar market. On the supply side, central banks throughout the world have implemented more than a decade-long accommodative monetary policy since the 2008 global financial crisis. The COVID-19 pandemic further exacerbated the need for central banks to provide necessary liquidity and keep staggering economies moving. While the Federal Reserve leads the effort of “money printing” and stimulus programs, the current money supply still cannot meet the constant high demand for the U.S. dollar2. Let us review some of the reasons for this constant dollar demand from a few economic fundamentals.

Demand for U.S. Dollars

Firstly, most of the world’s trade is denominated in U.S. dollars. Chief Economist of the IMF, Gita Gopinath, has compiled data reflecting that the U.S. dollar’s share of invoicing was 4.7 times larger than America’s share of the value of imports, and 3.1 times its share of world exports3. The U.S. dollar is the dominant “invoicing currency” in most developing countries4.

This U.S. dollar preference also directly impacts the world’s debt. According to the Bank of International Settlements, there is over $67 trillion in U.S. dollar denominated debt globally, and borrowing outside of the U.S. accounted for $12.5 trillion in Q1 20205. There is an immense demand for U.S. dollars every year just to service these dollar debts. The annual U.S. dollar buying demand is easily over $1 trillion assuming the borrowing cost is at 1.5% (1 year LIBOR + 1%) per year, a conservative estimate.

Secondly, since the U.S. has a much stronger economy compared to its global peers, a higher return on investments draws U.S. dollar demand from everywhere in the world, to invest in companies both in the public and private markets. The U.S. hosts the largest stock markets in the world with more than $33 trillion in public market capitalization (combined both NYSE and NASDAQ)6. For the private market, North America’s total share is well over 60% of the $6.5 trillion global assets under management across private equity, real assets, and private debt investments7. The demand for higher quality investments extends to the fixed income market as well. As countries like Japan and Switzerland currently have negative-yielding interest rates8, fixed income investors’ quest for yield in the developed economies leads them back to the U.S. debt market. As of July 2020, there are $15 trillion worth of negative-yielding debt securities globally (see chart). In comparison, the positive, low-yielding U.S. debt remains a sound fixed income strategy for conservative investors in uncertain market conditions.

Last, but not least, there are many developing economies experiencing failing monetary policies, where hyperinflation has become a real national disaster. A classic example is Venezuela, where the currency Bolivar became practically worthless as the inflation rate skyrocketed to 10,000,000% in 20199. The recent Beirut port explosion in Lebanon caused a sudden economic meltdown and compounded its already troubled financial market, where inflation has soared to over 112% year on year10. For citizens living in unstable regions such as these, the only reliable store of value is the U.S. dollar. According to the Chainalysis 2020 Geography of Cryptocurrency Report, Venezuela has become one of the most active cryptocurrency trading countries11. The demand for cryptocurrency surges as a flight to safety mentality drives Venezuelans to acquire U.S. dollars to preserve savings that they might otherwise lose. The growth for cryptocurrency activities in those regions is fueled by these desperate citizens using cryptocurrencies as rails to access the U.S. dollar, on top of acquiring actual Bitcoin or other underlying crypto assets.

The Rise of Crypto Dollars

Due to the highly volatile nature of cryptocurrencies, USD stablecoin, a crypto-powered blockchain token that pegs its value to the U.S. dollar, was introduced to provide stable dollar exposure in the crypto trading sphere. Tether is the first of its kind. Issued in 2014 on the bitcoin blockchain (Omni layer protocol), under the token symbol USDT, it attempts to provide crypto traders with a stable settlement currency while they trade in and out of various crypto assets. The reason behind the stablecoin creation was to address the inefficient and burdensome aspects of having to move fiat U.S. dollars between the legacy banking system and crypto exchanges. Because one USDT is theoretically backed by one U.S. dollar, traders can use USDT to trade and settle to fiat dollars. It was not until 2017 that the majority of traders seemed to realize Tether’s intended utility and started using it widely. As of April 2019, USDT trading volume started exceeding the trading volume of bitcoina12, and it now dominates the crypto trading sphere with over $50 billion average daily trading volume13.

https://preview.redd.it/3vq7v1jg09p51.png?width=700&format=png&auto=webp&s=46f11b5f5245a8c335ccc60432873e9bad2eb1e1
An interesting aspect of USDT is that although the claimed 1:1 backing with U.S. dollar collateral is in question, and the Tether company is in reality running fractional reserves through a loose offshore corporate structure, Tether’s trading volume and adoption continues to grow rapidly14. Perhaps in comparison to fiat U.S. dollars, which is not really backed by anything, Tether still has cash equivalents in reserves and crypto traders favor its liquidity and convenience over its lack of legitimacy. For those who are concerned about Tether’s solvency, they can now purchase credit default swaps for downside protection15. On the other hand, USDC, the more compliant contender, takes a distant second spot with total coin circulation of $1.8 billion, versus USDT at $14.5 billion (at the time of publication). It is still too early to tell who is the ultimate leader in the stablecoin arena, as more and more stablecoins are launching to offer various functions and supporting mechanisms. There are three main categories of stablecoin: fiat-backed, crypto-collateralized, and non-collateralized algorithm based stablecoins. Most of these are still at an experimental phase, and readers can learn more about them here. With the continuous innovation of stablecoin development, the utility stablecoins provide in the overall crypto market will become more apparent.

Institutional Developments

In addition to trade settlement, stablecoins can be applied in many other areas. Cross-border payments and remittances is an inefficient market that desperately needs innovation. In 2020, the average cost of sending money across the world is around 7%16, and it takes days to settle. The World Bank aims to reduce remittance fees to 3% by 2030. With the implementation of blockchain technology, this cost could be further reduced close to zero.
J.P. Morgan, the largest bank in the U.S., has created an Interbank Information Network (IIN) with 416 global Institutions to transform the speed of payment flows through its own JPM Coin, another type of crypto dollar17. Although people argue that JPM Coin is not considered a cryptocurrency as it cannot trade openly on a public blockchain, it is by far the largest scale experiment with all the institutional participants trading within the “permissioned” blockchain. It might be more accurate to refer to it as the use of distributed ledger technology (DLT) instead of “blockchain” in this context. Nevertheless, we should keep in mind that as J.P. Morgan currently moves $6 trillion U.S. dollars per day18, the scale of this experiment would create a considerable impact in the international payment and remittance market if it were successful. Potentially the day will come when regulated crypto exchanges become participants of IIN, and the link between public and private crypto assets can be instantly connected, unlocking greater possibilities in blockchain applications.
Many central banks are also in talks about developing their own central bank digital currency (CBDC). Although this idea was not new, the discussion was brought to the forefront due to Facebook’s aggressive Libra project announcement in June 2019 and the public attention that followed. As of July 2020, at least 36 central banks have published some sort of CBDC framework. While each nation has a slightly different motivation behind its currency digitization initiative, ranging from payment safety, transaction efficiency, easy monetary implementation, or financial inclusion, these central banks are committed to deploying a new digital payment infrastructure. When it comes to the technical architectures, research from BIS indicates that most of the current proofs-of-concept tend to be based upon distributed ledger technology (permissioned blockchain)19.

https://preview.redd.it/lgb1f2rw19p51.png?width=700&format=png&auto=webp&s=040bb0deed0499df6bf08a072fd7c4a442a826a0
These institutional experiments are laying an essential foundation for an improved global payment infrastructure, where instant and frictionless cross-border settlements can take place with minimal costs. Of course, the interoperability of private DLT tokens and public blockchain stablecoins has yet to be explored, but the innovation with both public and private blockchain efforts could eventually merge. This was highlighted recently by the Governor of the Bank of England who stated that “stablecoins and CBDC could sit alongside each other20”. One thing for certain is that crypto dollars (or other fiat-linked digital currencies) are going to play a significant role in our future economy.

Future Opportunities

There is never a dull moment in the crypto sector. The industry narratives constantly shift as innovation continues to evolve. Twelve years since its inception, Bitcoin has evolved from an abstract subject to a familiar concept. Its role as a secured, scarce, decentralized digital store of value has continued to gain acceptance, and it is well on its way to becoming an investable asset class as a portfolio hedge against asset price inflation and fiat currency depreciation. Stablecoins have proven to be useful as proxy dollars in the crypto world, similar to how dollars are essential in the traditional world. It is only a matter of time before stablecoins or private digital tokens dominate the cross-border payments and global remittances industry.
There are no shortages of hypes and experiments that draw new participants into the crypto space, such as smart contracts, new blockchains, ICOs, tokenization of things, or the most recent trends on DeFi tokens. These projects highlight the possibilities for a much more robust digital future, but the market also needs time to test and adopt. A reliable digital payment infrastructure must be built first in order to allow these experiments to flourish.
In this paper we examined the historical background and economic reasons for the U.S. dollar’s dominance in the world, and the probable conclusion is that the demand for U.S. dollars will likely continue, especially in the middle of a global pandemic, accompanied by a worldwide economic slowdown. The current monetary system is far from perfect, but there are no better alternatives for replacement at least in the near term. Incremental improvements are being made in both the public and private sectors, and stablecoins have a definite role to play in both the traditional and the new crypto world.
Thank you.

Fed steps in Bonds

FED STEPS INTO BONDS
Market Reverses 1000 Points
Smallcaps Lead the Way!
Today’s market was dramatic, to say the least. Futures were down hard on the COVID-19 spikes that I discussed in yesterday’s Weekly letter, but the worst was over within 15 minutes of the opening. The market then spent until about 1:15 grinding its way back to unchanged and was testing both sides of unchanged until the Fed announced that it was going into the market for individual bonds, not just the ETF’s. That took us to new highs +280 before another selloff to test unchanged again and a rally to close us +157.62 +.62%), NASDAQ +137.21 (1.43%), S&P 500 +25.28 (.83%), the Russell (listen to the closing video below) the biggest winner +31.92 (2.3%) and the DJ Transports +78 (.86%). The DJIA was 21:9 up with GS +31, AAPL +29 the gainers and MRK -16DPs the big loser. A/D were healthy at 2:1 NYSE, 2.5:1 NAZ, and volume was 3:2 higher. Financials, consumer staples, communication, and real estate the strength with Healthcare and Energy the “least strong.” All sectors were higher. The test tomorrow is the Friday highs of that day’s rally. DJIA 25,965, NASDAQ 9,768.84, S&P 500 3,088.42. After that, it’s back into the gap from last Thursday’s break lower.

FEDEX Loss Sends the Stock Up
Best Quarter for DJIA Since Q1 1987
Today’s market got off to a soft start in the DJIA on the loss of several more orders for BA but it didn’t take long to stabilize and work back to unchanged while the NASDAQ & S&P 500 shot to the upside right out of the gate. At the close we were +217.08 (.86%), NASDAQ +184.61 (1.87%), S&P-500 +47.05 (1.54%), the Russell +20.16 (1.42%) and the Transports +120.08 (1.33%). Market internals were 9:5 on the NYSE and 2:1 on the NASDAQ. Volume was a little higher (window dressing) for the close of the quarter and the half. The DJIA was 27:3 with BA the biggest loser -11.19 or 76 DP’s and the gainers were MSFT & UNH +35, HD +30, GS +28 and AAPL +20 DPs. The Powell / Mnuchin visit to the Financial Services committee was a real snore. The statements were released yesterday and there were no surprises. All the Congressmen and women made their little speeches without actually asking any serious questions…so a typical day on the Hill. The consumer confidence # was 98.1 up from 85.9 and well above the 92 expected. Not so the Chicago PMI which went the other way at 36.6, up from 32.3, but well below the 45 estimates.
We added some CVS 7/67.50 calls on the decline with an average price of $1.16 and they finished $ .78, and the NEM 7/17 $60’s @ 1.55 and added to last Friday @ $1.30 for an average of $1.47 triggered a 100% Up Rule sale at $2.94 this morning. They closed today $3.30. We also added a position in SLV 8/21 17 calls @ $ .74, and they closed $ .83.

But the start today was TSLA. I will be doing a report over this week-end but the story is from Ark Invests Cathie Wood and she tells a GREAT story for Tesla. The stock finished the day $1079.81 +70.46 (3.2%). From a low of $350 in March, the gain is just under 210%, and the market value of the company has grown to $200 Billion. FEDEX reported after the close and had a loss of $1.28 vs $7.56 year ago and a slight miss on revenues. After missing 3 of the last 3 quarters numbers, expectations were low and after closing $140.22 +5.67, it ran to $153.01 +12.89 for a total gain for the day of almost $20.00 or 15%. Even though UPS has been able to raise prices and pick up some of the AMZN business that FDX dropped last year, FDX seems to be doing okay in e-commerce.

We’ve moved $50 since the low on Friday and while the trend and momentum are positive, we may have to test 1790 to consolidate our gains. We bought back the 3rd and final lot of NEM @ $58.86. And, we also added a half position in NEM 7/17 60 calls @ $1.55, and additional 50% @ $1.30 on Friday. We sold half on the 100% Up Rule @ $2.94 yesterday and we closed $3.30 +1.18 today.

NVDA ran up with the rest of the chip names on the back of last night’s earnings from MU +4.8% and XLNX +7% with a close of $379.91 +11.91 (3.2%) and LCRX $323.46 +15.00 (4.87%).
FOOD SUPPLY CHAIN was HIGHER with TSN +..34, BGS +.04, FLO +.15, CPB +.40, CAG +1.57, MDLZ +.42, KHC +.24, CALM +.50, JJSF +2.56, HRL -.07, SJM +.73, PPC +.83, KR -.27, and PBJ $31.23 +.36 (1.17%).

OIL, $39.81 -43. Oil was lower in last night’s trading before we rallied midday. I mentioned in last night’s charts with comments section in the Weekly Strategies letter, prices are trying to work higher towards $45.00. The stocks were higher with XLE $37.58 +.58 (1.57%).
GOLD $1800.50 +19.3. It was a continuation rally and a new recovery high and the highest close since $1931.70 in August 2011.
BITCOIN: closed $9,185 - 15. After trading back to 8985 we rallied back to close – only $5. Since last week we have closed between 9200 – 92.85 every day with narrow ranges. A break over 10,000 still sends us higher. We added 350 shares of GBTC last Wednesday @ $10.02 to our position of 400 @ $8.06, bringing our average price to $8.97. GBTC closed $9.60 +.12 today.
Tomorrow is another day.

Goodbye Chuckie!

For Trading JUNE 26TH
Continuing Claims Decline Slightly
Market & Oil Reverse Higher
Good-bye Chuckie!
Today’s market was a bore with just an early continuation of the move lower on Covid-19 spikes. Futures were down well over 280 for the DJIA but a combination of economic news and the “fair value” overnight blunted the declines. We worked up thru most of the day but the real move came from 3:00PM when we went from unchanged to close near the highs +299.66 (1.18%), NASDAQ +107.83 (1.09%), S&P 500 +33.43 (1.10%), the Russell +23.57 (1.7%) and the Transports managed to gain 100.52 (1.13%). The DJIA had 22 up and only 8 were lower with no major losers and the gainers lead by GS +63, UNH +48 and AAPL +38DP’s. Market internals were 9:5 up on the NYSE and 2:1 on NAZ, and volume on the NASDAQ was actually down about 20%. Financials, Energy, Info Tech and materials lead the way while Utilities and Consumer discretionary were the laggards.
We added some CVS 7/67.50 calls on the decline with an average price of $1.16 and they finished $ .76, and the NEM 7/17 $60’s @ 1.55 and added to on Friday @ $1.30 for an average of $1.47 triggered a 100% Up Rule sale at $2.94 this morning. They closed the day $1.98.
Our “open forum” on Discord, which allows me to interact with subscribers and others to allow direct questions and chart opinions on just about any stock, continues to grow with more participants every day. It is informative and allows me to share insights as the market is open and moving. The link is: https://discord.gg/ATvC7YZ and I will be there and active from before the open and all day. It’s a great place to share ideas and gain some insights, and we’ve grown to almost 1900 members. I also did this video titled “How to survive being an options trader and not blow up your account,” over the long weekend. I think it’s very informative as a guide to stock selection and option choices. The link is https://youtu.be/Y7H9RpWfLlo Enjoy!!
Tonight’s closing comment video https://youtu.be/ByEWVOLxlWU SECTORS: The news of COVID-19 surges in cases to new highs has caused the states of both Texas and Florida to halt the progression of their re-openings. While it doesn’t stop the phases that they are in, it does stop things from moving forward. There are states that have seen increases of up to 300% from where they were when the re-openings began. For a look at how ALL the states are doing use this link: https://rt.live/ Disney “characters” signed a petition in Florida to keep the park closed until there are actually declining numbers for the virus, something that has not started. Remember that DIS reopened the Disney Mall, just off the property. DIS is pushing back the openings both in Florida and California. In other news, Verizon (VZ) has put FB on notice that they are discontinuing their advertising on the site “indefinitely,” until FB gets a handle on hate-speech and other issues that the company finds objectionable. While there have been several smaller firms to pull ads, VZ is clearly the biggest. Albertsons, the grocery chain that was taken private priced their new IPO today. Reception by the street was so muted that they had to cut both price and size of the offering down to $800 million and priced the shares @ $16.00. The main reason for the distain is the fact that there is no money actually going to the company, but rather it all goes to the insiders who took the company private. Besides that, the insiders (current management) will still maintain control. Not the way new investors want to see the deal done. Last, I’ve written about Inovio (INO) for months now, starting when the stock moved from $3 to $6, and further when it went from $6 to $19 in just 2 weeks. The company makes a delivery system for the coming Coronavirus and the government has seen fit to finance the manufacturing, as announced earlier this week. Since Monday, when the stock closed $15.30, it has been on a tear closing $31.25 +7.38 or 31%. Today in extended hours it is now $34.54 +3.15 (10%) and the move for the first 4 days of the week is +$20 or just 133%. And just a quick note, CEC, the owner of Chuckie Cheese filed for bankruptcy. It intends to keep some stores open when it emerges from reorganization.
FOOD SUPPLY CHAIN was HIGHER with TSN +.43, BGS +.31, FLO unch., CPB +.79, CAG -.10, MDLZ +.19, KHC -.28, CALM +1.65, JJSF +.29, SAFM -.22, HRL +.91, SJM -.50, PPC -.13, KR -.05, and PBJ $30.88 +.17 (.56%).
BIOPHARMA was HIGHER with BIIB -1.04, ABBV +2.51, REGN +14.92, ISRG +.15, GILD -.53, MYL +.26, TEVA +.10, VRTX +3.97, BHC -.02, INCY +1.62, ICPT +1.24, LABU +4.27 (7.23%), and IBB $138.27 +1.87 (1.37%).
CANNABIS: was MIXED with TLRY +.33, CGC -.21, CRON -.09, GWPH +3.47, ACB -.40, CURLF +.18, KERN +1.21, and MJ $13.20 +.03 (.23%).
DEFENSE: was HIGHER with LMT +1.23, GD +.51, TXT +.57, BWXT +.29, NOC -.16, TDY +.86, RTX -.47 and ITA $161.28 +.57 (.35%).
RETAIL was LOWER with M -.34, JWN -.64, KSS -76, DDS -.58, WMT -.70, TGT +.23, TJX -.73, RL -.33, UAA +.01, LULU -1.82, TPR -.05, CPRI -.21, and XRT $41.21 +21 (.51%).
FAANG and Big Cap: were HIGHER with GOOGL +8.41, AMZN +23.09, AAPL +4.79, FB -1.09, NFLX +7.25, NVDA +11.08, TSLA +30.31, BABA -3.83, BIDU +2.08, CMG +1.05, CAT +2.93, BA -2.68, DIS -1.57 and XLK $103.57 +1.30 (1.27%).
FINANCIALS were HIGHER with GS +1.92, JPM +1.36, BAC +.33, MS +2.45, C +1.72, PNC +1.48, AIG +.60, TRV +1.64, AXP +1.32, V +2.47, and XLF $23.20 +.22 (.96%). These stocks were higher but the FED news after the close on the stress test pared gains in late trading.
OIL, $38.72 +.71. Oil was lower this morning touching as low as $37.08 I had called $36.75-37 in this mornings video, and we rallied well off those levels. I mentioned in last night’s video that it appears that prices are trying to work higher towards $45.00 but it will have to reverse quickly. The stocks were higher with XLE $37.80 +.69 (1.86%).
GOLD $1770.80 -4.50. It was a small pull-back after the strong rally of the early part of this week, and after touching $1764 we turned back higher and closed mid-range. We bought back the 3rd and final lot of NEM @ $58.86. And, we also added a half position in NEM 7/17 60 calls @ $1.55, and additional 50% @ $1.30 on Friday. We sold half on the 100% Up Rule @ $2.94 yesterday and we closed $1.98 today.
BITCOIN: closed $9,280 -5. After trading back to 8985 we rallied back to close – only $5. A break over 10,000 still sends us higher. We added 350 shares of GBTC last Wednesday @ $10.02 to our position of 400 @ $8.06, bringing our average price to $8.97. GBTC closed $10.14 -.06 today.
Tomorrow is another day.

Where is Beeks!

For Trading March 13th
Markets Halted Again FED Pumps The Market Most Sports Cancelled
Yields Improve
Today’s market was pounded from the start with the futures overnight falling on the lack of enthusiasm for the president’s speech and plans to avert the panic that COVID-19. We were halted again within minutes of the open, and languished to trade lower until the Fed program of approximately $1.5 Trillion (with a T) of “repo” programs that no matter what they call it, is QE to infinity and beyond. But, it only helped for a 5% rally from 1:00 to about 1:20PM and them we again headed lower and just before the close broke to a new low of the day -2353.60 (9.99%), NASDAQ -750.25 (9.43%), S&P 500 -260.74 (9.51$), the Russell -141.37 (11.18%), and the DJ Transports -867.07 (10.67%). While travel and entertainment has been the leader on the downside, today sporting events became the newest casualty, with NBA, MLB Spring training, NHL all suspended until further notice, and finally NCAA March Madness cancelled. Live Nation, already down from $76.60 fell to $36.20 -5.81 (13.83%). Disney closed the California park through the end of the month. Market Internals were dramatic, but not quite as bad earlier this week with NYSE “only” 37:1, and NASDAQ 17:1. Volume was up today, and the A/D volume was 25:1 on NYSE. All stocks in the DJIA were lower with BA -232, AAPL AND UNH -184, HD -151, GS -143, MCD -123, and IBM -102DPs rounding out the triple-digit losers, and all the rest were down double digits. Very ugly. Here in Boston, they just reported that the hotel that hosted the BIIB meeting last month, where there were 82 out of 103 cases in the state has closed until further notice. The hotel is the Marriott Long Wharf on the harbor.

SECTORS: Other names in the news: I’m not sure that there is really any point to listing all the names and declines here so I’m just going to hit the earnings for the day starting with DG, which had an upside surprise but still fell to $141.97 -15.66 (9.93%) although it is only $20 from its high of 165 (12%). GCO was a beat but it has fallen from a recent high of $53.20 in December and closed today $22.14 -1.97 (8.17%). Spartan Motors (SPAR) surprised to the upside and while already down from $20.70 last month managed to stay green @ $11.46 +.10 (.88%), but still green.
After the close we had numbers for ADBE and after falling to $285 -30.23 (9.59%) it traded up to $296 but has only held $286.85. Broadcom (AVGO) missed on top and bottom lines, guided Q2 down, and withdrew it FY2020 guidance. The stock, down from an all-time high of $331.58 in February closed $218.78 -27.19 (11.05%) fell to $197.46 and is currently 202.25 -16.53. ULTA beat and reported inline revenues but their guidance was a disappointment. The stock, which fell from $342 to 235 in September and made some headway when it beat in December had made it back to $300 earlier this year, has fallen to finish the day $198.54 -22.67 (10.25%) rallied back to $210 but is now $195.03.
BIOPHARMA: was LOWER with most down nearly 10% and BIIB -30.25 (10.28%), ABBV -6.23M REGN -32.81, ISRG -52.02 (10.12%), MYL -1.21, TEVA -1.58 (17.09%), VRTX -21.34, BHC -2.23 (12.09%), INCY -3.78, ICPT -11.50 (14.82%), LABU 20.35 -9.66 (32.06%) and IBB $95.80 -11.17 (10.44%).
CANNABIS: stocks were LOWER again with all down over 10%, with TLRY -1.19 (16.7%), CGC -2.60 (19.48%), CRON -.99 (18.3%), GWPH -11.09 (12.76%), ACB -.16 (18.48%), PYX -.81 (26.73%), NBEV -.32 (18.60%), CURLF -.45 (10.74%), KERN -1.04 (16.99%), and MJ 9.90 -1.44 (12.7%).
DEFENSE: was SHARPLY LOWER with most down double digits LMT -48.93, RTN -16.75, GD -16.45, TXT -5.16, UTX -6.07, NOC -31.58, BWXT +1.06, TDY -25.58 and ITA $144.84 -21.84 (13.10%).
RETAIL was LOWER with all down double-digit percentages. M -1.89, JWN -4.27, KSS -5.47, DDS -5.06, JCP -.10 (20%), WMT -10.43, TGT -13.58, TJX -6.61, RL -11.00, UAA -1.69, LULU -24.74, TPR -2.56, CPRI -4.49, and XRT 29.84 -5.13 (14.67%).
FAANG and Big Cap: were LOWER with this group the highlight of the crowded trade problems. GOOGL – 107.90, AMZN -184.86, AAPL -36.51, FB -17.49, NFLX -44.92, NVDA -37.47, IBM -15.97, TSLA -113.68, BABA -16.91, BIDU -11.37, BA -35.48, CAT -9.44, DIS -15.54 and XLK $74.38 -9.11 (19.91%).
FINANCIALS were LOWER with the market and the FEDs big REPO program didn’t seem to help. GS –22.89, JPM -8.97, BAC -2.65, MS -6.21, C -7.98, PNC -7.46, AIG -7.28 (22.45%), 9.80, AXP -13.56 and XLF $20.04 -2.80 (12.26%).
OIL, $31.50 -1.38 The stocks were LOWER with the price of Oil trying to hold $30.00 with a low today @ $30.02 before coming back a bit. I’m still standing aside this market since it has a lot of work to do to rebuild a base to define the risk. XLE finished $29.11 – 4.56 (13.54%).
METALS, GOLD: $1,590.30 -52.00. After the overnight selloff the Gold fell along with the S&P, breaking the 50-day MA, but holding the previous lows at $1,560 and bouncing a bit higher at the close. Gold is clearly suffering through liquidation like the rest of the market, but the FED repo program should stoke the inflation fires, and any bounce in stocks will help.
BITCOIN: closed $6,010 -1845. We broke to the downside overnight and fell to a low of $5595. While I want to add the 350 sold just over a week ago, I want to wait and see some stabilization. We still own 400 GBTC with an average of $8.06. GBTC closed $6.44 -2.17 today.
Tomorrow is another day.

Where is Beeks?

It’s a great place to share ideas and gain some insights.
Gold is clearly suffering through liquidation like the rest of the market, but the FED repo program should stoke the inflation fires, and any bounce in stocks will help.

spec shitshow #5

one of the few who still reads these?
I don't have to be PC so let me just say it how it is:
Young naive writer https://twitter.com/AlyssaHertig gets handed narrative by the paper. Writes some stupid shit, gets paid by VC indirectly for protecting the portfolio (because IOTA is a threat to the entire portfolio). Slap a graphic on top of it. Done.
I agree that there is no "grand conspiracy" to damage the IF. It's regular business for coindesk at this point.
https://www.coindesk.com/iota-2-7-billion-cryptocurrency-developers-love-hate/

Attacking IOTA on a scientific level ended with self inflicted academic fraud (allegedly), exposing bad actors and destroyed reputations, while educating the IOTA community about the protocol itself. If the media didn't spin the DCI/IOTA incident, it would have been an absolute PR bloodbath for DCI. The new angle is: hurt the IF by making it look like a toxic environment for developers.
That's why month old screenshots are being digged out. This is FUD with surgical precision because developers engaging with the IOTA protocol is one of the more underrated but really fucking important factors.
Thanks to the first steps in making the IF more transparent however, we now know over that 1300+ developers/creators are part of the Ecosystem. https://ecosystem.iota.org

Yes, you should boycott Coindesk. No, it's not childish. You should generally avoid all bad press as it's a waste of time.

If the first newspaper you’ve read was on an iPad you might not know this: Serious newspapers label articles, in which the writer states his/her opinion on the topic he/she is reporting on, AS SUCH. Those are often referred to as “Opinion Pieces” or a “Comment”. However...

Most crypto news sites are simply a vehicle to push undisclosed native advertisement
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Native_advertising
[Native advertising is a type of advertising, mostly online, that matches the form and function of the platform upon which it appears.] ...
[a clear disclosure is deemed necessary when employing native marketing strategy in order to protect the consumer from being deceived] ... [According to Federal Trade Commission, means of disclosure include visual cues, labels, and other techniques.[8]]

here is a good example of a native advertisement: https://www.coindesk.com/circle-adds-zcash-crypto-investment-app/

If a news outlet is NOT even labeling opinion pieces as such - it’s not worth your time. It will add more confusion than clarity. Because that’s what it’s designed to do.
Let's see if we can spot the difference between professional and fraud:
  1. https://www.finder.com.au/fujitsu-showcases-iota-cryptocurrency-as-new-automation-standard
  2. https://thenextweb.com/hardfork/2018/04/28/iota-university-college-london-ucl/
see how finder.com.au is very clear about everything? Opinion and disclosure? TNW not so much...
ok, let's never talk about this again! Let's finally move on.

We should stay healthy skeptics towards corporate adoption. Friendly reminder the IF exists mainly to push back on corporate agendas.
For all we know, some just do it for the extra likes on twitter because of a #IOTA hashtag. Rarely do corporate SM accounts enjoy this kind of attention.
If you think i'm being anti-corporate libtardish, consider this: Industry 4.0 needs IOTA more than IOTA needs them. https://twitter.com/Schuldensuehnestatus/989738856298659841 Not only to stay competitive but also to not get hacked and shut down by “insert country”. Bosch, Fujitsu and DXC are maybe the first to realize this. SO PLEASE stop begging on social media and tweeting at Elon Musk about IOTA. It’s not a good look.

that being said:
Institutional money and regulation is the hot topic right now. And most likely will be during 2018. BTC Futures showed a recent spike in Volume hinting at smart money flowing in: https://twitter.com/CryptoKinky/status/989569263383011328 (dont judge me for my resources i cant afford nice looking charts)
There are several news articles about WS traders moving to crypto and so on. Looks like things are starting to get rolling in the institutional world, as infrastructure is being set up.
Contrary to popular tinfoilery belief (aka. "The Cartel" Medium Article, that all of Bitcoin is 100% manipulated already based on future contracts), futures had relatively small volume compared to the global btc volume - most likely not important enough to justify manipulation of the entire market.
https://bitcoinaverage.com/en/bitcoin-price/btc-to-usd (global volume)

Even the SEC Chairman Jay Clayton stated that futures market is "quite small" in his public statement before the february hearing:
https://www.cftc.gov/PressRoom/SpeechesTestimony/opagiancarlo37
It is important to put the new Bitcoin futures market in perspective. It is quite small with open interest at the CME of 6,695 bitcoin14 and at Cboe Futures Exchange (Cboe) of 5,569 bitcoin (as of Feb. 2, 2018). At a price of approximately $7,700 per Bitcoin,15 this represents a notional amount of about $94 million.

If you believe in a paradigm shift, this means we are still early.

Recent regulatory voices and twitter drama led to this piece by https://coincenter.org/entry/no-ether-is-not-a-security
Why is this important? Companies in the US most likely are patient about making an investment into any crypto token as there is regulatory uncertainty.
DXC TECHNOLOGY COMPANY, showcased a PoC with IOTA. At Q4 in december, DXC has stated:
213 Million in Net cash provided by (used in) investing activities. https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgadata/1688568/000168856818000007/dxc1231201710-q.htm
Just some food for thought:
If you are already spending opportunity cost on IOTA, why wouldn't you leverage that with the token. Bosch invested into the token as well, most likely because there is more regulatory certainty in germany. Fujitsu wants to roll out IOTA as an industry standard (as it seems). This is not your regular Shitcoin. There is a reason dumb money is called dumb. Last time i check Verge had 10x the volume on binance compared to IOTA.

There are no fundamentals yet in evaluation, it’s purely speculative - but with more institutions moving into the space this might change. As such, CCs with industrial use could likely see a reevaluation. But, looking in from the outside, there seem to be some hurdles.
this twitter account is one of the more resourceful ones, he lets out some numbers to boost his SM traction (god bless him) https://twitter.com/joel_john95
as outsiders, this will be an extremely helpful resource. He tweeted out a quarterly report https://medium.com/outlier-ventures-io/state-of-blockchains-q1-2018-1efe284572c1
he writes: Over $1.8 billion has been invested into firms working with the blockchain ecosystem through corporate venture capital to date.
That’s not that much. Is it. For the entire ecosystem? Friendly reminder snapchat, after a 20% fall, is a 15 billion company. Just to get some perspective.

Especially if you consider the crypto market is still in the hands of leveraged daytraders on bitmex and whales, who got big stacks in a coin early on.
Imagine you want to invest 3M into IOTA as a CVC, you would’t spin up Binance and hit marketorder. You contact the IF and see if you can buy some, or outlier ventures might want to part with some, or even the founders i imagine hold quite a substantial amount.
I often see people asking for more exchanges - that's kinda missing the point. What you want at this point is more institutional interest. That's the kind of demand we want. Thats what you would call "organic growth" i guess.
Ripple holders, thinking a coinbase listening would make XRP go to $10, fail understand that Ripple itself holds a substantial amount of tokens where VCs can go and buy in bulk. And that’s why XRP is such a Shitcoin in the first place.

Cool thing about open ledgers is that you can look at them. Go figure. https://arewedecentralizedyet.com/

Ripple and XLM look extremely bad with over 90% of coins held in the top 100 addresses (shitcoins confirmed). TRX and EOS don’t even have a mainnet yet to really track it - so you can imagine the numbers are likely shit too. ADA is looking way better than IOTA in terms of wealth distribution. But 60% for whales, IF and Founders is probably better than what most projects can show for.
Thing is, the small guys got in on crypto first. Not the banks, not a selected silicon valley investor boisclub either. While this is good for us, it's a nightmare for investment banks and such.
JPMorgan admitted that in their “BTC Bible” saying:
Ownership is highly concentrated. The opportunity set around direct CC trading appears relatively limited for banks
(Think about that for a second.)
CVC investing into the token could be, in my speculative opinion, the most likely catalyst for the price of IOTA, as its industrial adoption can build a synergy for entire sectors. As the main argument for Bitcoin is price uncorrelation to legacy assets, IOTA might be an interesting pick for the smart money, as it could be one of the few CCs with actual fundamental impact on different industry sectors. Something Blockchain, after 10 years, has failed to do.
Let me summarize because i was a bit all over the place. Things i will look for going forward:
  1. Institutional infrastructure is being built as we speak as regulations get more clear
  2. 2018 might see the highest investments into the blockchain ecosphere
  3. Financial talent from legacy market is switching to crypto
  4. Retail investors are the early adopters, not exclusive silicon valley boiclubs
  5. Liquidity is really bad, its hard to buy a lot of crypto for institutions
  6. The real FOMO and bubble might come with the “smart” money
  7. IF addressing wealth distribution and being more transparent
(i do not have a finance background as you can see and i write these to offer some interesting links and resources you might find useful in your own research.)

Decred Journal — May 2018

Note: New Reddit look may not highlight links. See old look here. A copy is hosted on GitHub for better reading experience. Check it out, contains photo of the month! Also on Medium

Development

dcrd: Significant optimization in signature hash calculation, bloom filters support was removed, 2x faster startup thanks to in-memory full block index, multipeer work advancing, stronger protection against majority hashpower attacks. Additionally, code refactoring and cleanup, code and test infrastructure improvements.
In dcrd and dcrwallet developers have been experimenting with new modular dependency and versioning schemes using vgo. @orthomind is seeking feedback for his work on reproducible builds.
Decrediton: 1.2.1 bugfix release, work on SPV has started, chart additions are in progress. Further simplification of the staking process is in the pipeline (slack).
Politeia: new command line tool to interact with Politeia API, general development is ongoing. Help with testing will soon be welcome: this issue sets out a test plan, join #politeia to follow progress and participate in testing.
dcrdata: work ongoing on improved design, adding more charts and improving Insight API support.
Android: design work advancing.
Decred's own DNS seeder (dcrseeder) was released. It is written in Go and it properly supports service bit filtering, which will allow SPV nodes to find full nodes that support compact filters.
Ticket splitting service by @matheusd entered beta and demonstrated an 11-way split on mainnet. Help with testing is much appreciated, please join #ticket_splitting to participate in splits, but check this doc to learn about the risks. Reddit discussion here.
Trezor support is expected to land in their next firmware update.
Decred is now supported by Riemann, a toolbox from James Prestwich to construct transactions for many UTXO-based chains from human-readable strings.
Atomic swap with Ethereum on testnet was demonstrated at Blockspot Conference LATAM.
Two new faces were added to contributors page.
Dev activity stats for May: 238 active PRs, 195 master commits, 32,831 added and 22,280 deleted lines spread across 8 repositories. Contributions came from 4-10 developers per repository. (chart)

Network

Hashrate: rapid growth from ~4,000 TH/s at the beginning of the month to ~15,000 at the end with new all time high of 17,949. Interesting dynamic in hashrate distribution across mining pools: coinmine.pl share went down from 55% to 25% while F2Pool up from 2% to 44%. [Note: as of June 6, the hashrate continues to rise and has already passed 22,000 TH/s]
Staking: 30-day average ticket price is 91.3 DCR (+0.8), stake participation is 46.9% (+0.8%) with 3.68 million DCR locked (+0.15). Min price was 85.56. On May 11 ticket price surged to 96.99, staying elevated for longer than usual after such a pump. Locked DCR peaked at 47.17%. jet_user on reddit suggested that the DCR for these tickets likely came from a miner with significant hashrate.
Nodes: there are 226 public listening and 405 normal nodes per dcred.eu. Version distribution: 45% on v1.2.0 (up from 24% last month), 39% on v1.1.2, 15% on v1.1.0 and 1% running outdaded versions.

ASICs

Obelisk team posted an update. Current hashrate estimate of DCR1 is 1200 GH/s at 500 W and may still change. The chips came back at 40% the speed of the simulated results, it is still unknown why. Batch 1 units may get delayed 1-2 weeks past June 30. See discussions on decred and on siacoin.
@SiaBillionaire estimated that 7940 DCR1 units were sold in Batches 1-5, while Lynmar13 shared his projections of DCR1 profitability (reddit).
A new Chinese miner for pre-order was noticed by our Telegram group. Woodpecker WB2 specs 1.5 TH/s at 1200 W, costs 15,000 CNY (~2,340 USD) and the initial 150 units are expected to ship on Aug 15. (pow8.comtranslated)
Another new miner is iBelink DSM6T: 6 TH/s at 2100 W costing $6,300 (ibelink.co). Shipping starts from June 5. Some concerns and links were posted in these two threads.

Integrations

A new mining pool is available now: altpool.net. It uses PPLNS model and takes 1% fee.
Another infrastructure addition is tokensmart.io, a newly audited stake pool with 0.8% fee. There are a total of 14 stake pools now.
Exchange integrations:
OpenBazaar released an update that allows one to trade cryptocurrencies, including DCR.
@i2Rav from i2trading is now offering two sided OTC market liquidity on DCUSD in #trading channel.
Paytomat, payments solution for point of sale and e-commerce, integrated Decred. (missed in April issue)
CoinPayments, a payment processor supporting Decred, developed an integration with @Shopify that allows connected merchants to accept cryptocurrencies in exchange for goods.

Adoption

New merchants:
An update from VotoLegal:
michae2xl: Voto Legal: CEO Thiago Rondon of Appcívico, has already been contacted by 800 politicians and negotiations have started with four pre-candidates for the presidency (slack, source tweet)
Blockfolio rolled out Signal Beta with Decred in the list. Users who own or watch a coin will automatically receive updates pushed by project teams. Nice to see this Journal made it to the screenshot!
Placeholder Ventures announced that Decred is their first public investment. Their Investment Thesis is a clear and well researched overview of Decred. Among other great points it noted the less obvious benefit of not doing an ICO:
By choosing not to pre-sell coins to speculators, the financial rewards from Decred’s growth most favor those who work for the network.

Community Discussions

Community stats: Twitter 39,118 (+742), Reddit 8,167 (+277), Slack 5,658 (+160). Difference is between May 5 and May 31.
Reddit highlights: transparent up/down voting on Politeia, combining LN and atomic swaps, minimum viable superorganism, the controversial debate on Decred contractor model (people wondered about true motives behind the thread), tx size and fees discussion, hard moderation case, impact of ASICs on price, another "Why Decred?" thread with another excellent pitch by solar, fee analysis showing how ticket price algorithm change was controversial with ~100x cut in miner profits, impact of ticket splitting on ticket price, recommendations on promoting Decred, security against double spends and custom voting policies.
@R3VoLuT1OneR posted a preview of a proposal from his company for Decred to offer scholarships for students.
dcrtrader gained a couple of new moderators, weekly automatic threads were reconfigured to monthly and empty threads were removed. Currently most trading talk happens on #trading and some leaks to decred. A separate trading sub offers some advantages: unlimited trading talk, broad range of allowed topics, free speech and transparent moderation, in addition to standard reddit threaded discussion, permanent history and search.
Forum: potential social attacks on Decred.
Slack: the #governance channel created last month has seen many intelligent conversations on topics including: finite attention of decision makers, why stakeholders can make good decisions (opposed to a common narrative than only developers are capable of making good decisions), proposal funding and contractor pre-qualification, Cardano and Dash treasuries, quadratic voting, equality of outcome vs equality of opportunity, and much more.
One particularly important issue being discussed is the growing number of posts arguing that on-chain governance and coin voting is bad. Just a few examples from Twitter: Decred is solving an imagined problem (decent response by @jm_buirski), we convince ourselves that we need governance and ticket price algo vote was not controversial, on-chain governance hurts node operators and it is too early for it, it robs node operators of their role, crypto risks being captured by the wealthy, it is a huge threat to the whole public blockchain space, coin holders should not own the blockchain.
Some responses were posted here and here on Twitter, as well as this article by Noah Pierau.

Markets

The month of May has seen Decred earn some much deserved attention in the markets. DCR started the month around 0.009 BTC and finished around 0.0125 with interim high of 0.0165 on Bittrex. In USD terms it started around $81 and finished around $92, temporarily rising to $118. During a period in which most altcoins suffered, Decred has performed well; rising from rank #45 to #30 on Coinmarketcap.
The addition of a much awaited KRW pair on Upbit saw the price briefly double on some exchanges. This pair opens up direct DCR to fiat trading in one of the largest cryptocurrency markets in the world.
An update from @i2Rav:
We have begun trading DCR in large volume daily. The interest around DCR has really started to grow in terms of OTC quote requests. More and more customers are asking about trading it.
Like in previous month, Decred scores high by "% down from ATH" indicator being #2 on onchainfx as of June 6.

David Vorick (@taek) published lots of insights into the world of ASIC manufacturing (reddit). Bitmain replied.
Bitmain released an ASIC for Equihash (archived), an algorithm thought to be somewhat ASIC-resistant 2 years ago.
Three pure PoW coins were attacked this month, one attempting to be ASIC resistant. This shows the importance of Decred's PoS layer that exerts control over miners and allows Decred to welcome ASIC miners for more PoW security without sacrificing sovereignty to them.
Upbit was raided over suspected fraud and put under investigation. Following news reported no illicit activity was found and suggested and raid was premature and damaged trust in local exchanges.
Circle, the new owner of Poloniex, announced a USD-backed stablecoin and Bitmain partnership. The plan is to make USDC available as a primary market on Poloniex. More details in the FAQ.
Poloniex announced lower trading fees.
Bittrex plans to offer USD trading pairs.
@sumiflow made good progress on correcting Decred market cap on several sites:
speaking of market cap, I got it corrected on coingecko, cryptocompare, and worldcoinindex onchainfx, livecoinwatch, and cryptoindex.co said they would update it about a month ago but haven't yet I messaged coinlib.io today but haven't got a response yet coinmarketcap refused to correct it until they can verify certain funds have moved from dev wallets which is most likely forever unknowable (slack)

The /r/btc China Dispatch: Episode 2 - Why Doesn’t China Ban Bitcoin?

First of all a big thanks to everyone who responded so positively to yesterday’s first edition of the /btc China Dispatch. If this enthusiasm keeps up, I will continue to produce translations on at least a weekly basis as long as there is interest, and the current plan is to inaugurate this series with one translation per day for the next week.
For those of you who missed it, you can check out the first episode regarding China’s reaction to Mike Hearn’s recent pessimistic essay here. In today’s episode we take a look at a discussion that occurred today on the Bikeji forums (bikeji.com) regarding a topic that has been a perennial subject of discussion in the English-speaking bitcoin world: why China, or any government for that matter, doesn’t just ban bitcoin?
Note that unlike last time I’ve (loosely) translated or transliterated all user names to make the discussion easier to follow.
[OP]
Subject: Why Doesn’t The Chinese Government Ban Bitcoin?
Posted by Keeper_of_Crypto_Tower
You might say that the birth of bitcoin has changed the game for national finance / monetary policy at a fundamental level. Isn’t it kind of interesting that a currency that is not controlled by the government is able to stay in circulation?
[Response 1]

Bwahahaha! [derisive laughter]
[Response 2]
Posted by Yushu
Even the party oligarchs are now talking about governing the country under the rule of law. Under what law, exactly, would it be possible to ban bitcoin?
[Response 3]
Posted by LaibitePool_Jiang_Zhuoer
Because it’s legal in Beacon Country [translator’s note: tounge-in-cheek slang for “the USA.” Here, the term “beacon” is sarcastically borrowed from a speech made by Bush Sr. who referred to the USA as a “beacon” for democracy in the early 90s] and Europe. The party oligarchs won’t ban it because under the circumstances it would make them lose face.
Also, the experience of Hairy Bear Country [translator’s note: humorous slang for “Russia.” Presumably originates from the fact that Russia is famous for polar bears.] shows that a ban of bitcoin is completely ineffective:
Russia banned bitcoin trading in Feburary 2014 while the ruble was undergoing a period of severe inflation (Xinhua News: “Russia Joins the Ranks of Countries Banning Bitcoin”). However, it is obvious based on trading volume for LocalBitcoins.com (a local bitcoin matching and trading service) in Russia that the ban was for all intents and purposes completely meaningless.
[Inline Image: LocalBitcoins Voulme Chart (Russia)]
Therefore all things considered the party oligarchs have gone with a realtively smart strategy: nominal legality + de facto tight control, so bitcoin exists but only on a small scale. If bitcoin ever really started to take off they could at any time start strictly enforcing a “Five Ministries Notice” and directly cut bitcoin off from the financial system for a peridod of time. They would definitely be able to drag it out for a period of time and would only need to drag it out for the time the current administration is power.
You can refer to section 1.1 of https://www.zhihu.com/question/22076666/answe69638270 to learn more about definitions of bitcoin under the law and understand how bitcoin is defined under the law in various countries.
[Response 4]
Posted by Shichenxi
Because:
* Bitcoin is deflationary and is bad for economic development
* There are too few bitcoins: only 21 million. They are nothing but a toy for geeks and cannot function as a serious currency
* The price is super volatile. The price would have to be stable before it could become a currency
Therefore bitcoin is not a currency and has no chance of becoming a currency.
At most bitcoin is nothing more than a collectible item similar to stamps (according to Zhou Xiaochuan [translator’s note: Zhou Xiaochuan is the Governor of the People’s Bank of China])
Wouldn’t you all agree?
[Response 5]

@ Laibite_Pool_Jiang_Zhuoer This is a great educational post. It would be great if we could keep this to refer back to for educational purposes. Strongly support re-posting this to the Bikeji main page!

[Image of a arrogant looking cat wearing an emporer’s cap. The text reads “I love it that you can’t stand the look of me but can’t get rid of me”]
[Response 7]
Posted by hippies
Nobody really gives a shit about bitcoin… in any case it’s just a small pipeline and some of the party oligarchs are able to use this small pipeline to move their wealth. If bitcoin were ever to seriously affect the interests of the party oligarchs then they could mount a 51% attack as easily as building a few kilometers of subway line. They’ve got the nukes and if they can set off one they can set off another one. Things like the project headed by Fang Binxing [translator’s note: Fang Binxing is the mastermind behind the Great Firewall of China] are what’s most important.
[Response 8]
Posted by mkz899
Because you already lost all of your bitcoins, so what’s the point of the government banning them? [Translator’s note: Keeper_of_Crypto_Tower recently posted elsewhere on the same forum that he lost 2,000 BTC that he mined in ’09 due to his dad throwing out his old computer from highschool... a likely story]
[Response 9]

@mkz899 Fuck you…
Hope this thread was as interesting as the last one. Any and all feedback appreciated!
